I was wondering what this is for and whether or not i could remove it and if i do remove it do i have to plug anything?

That's the charcoal canister. You can just toss it out if you want. Cap the one line coming out of the throttle body and I think you can leave the other two vented.

Thanks. Im in the middle of swapping in an RB and this thing was in the way all the time so i thought i would get rid of it since i hadnt seen it on many modded 240s

that cansiter is for your emissions just disconect all the hoses and plug the ones that go to your intake manifold with something and leave the one that eventally turns into a break like look tube open, that one goes to your gas tank to relive the pressure build up that occurs.
