Im looking for specific CD/DVD head units from Japan. These are from Alpine Japan. They always get the good stuff.

INE-W099: Double Din, 6.5" Screen with built in DVD player, Navigation, CD player and Radio. It also has a full EQ, time correction, and crossovers. Ive never seen anything like it in the states. Its not one of those mototrized flip face monitors that conceal themselves in the deck.

DVA-7899J: half din indash DVD/CD player. Looks alot cooler than the one ALpine just released in america.

PXA-H700: half din surround sound processor. Seems to be a step below the f1 status.

DVDs have a region coding so only DVD's from Japan will work. The Navigation maps for those units work only in Japan. The radio stations are set for Japan frequencys. So... basically thats why. Japan keeps all the cool stuff for themselves and gives us weak versions of what they have. But thats nothing we havent *****ed about before. :) I guess we just have to get what they give us and be satisfied with it.

The DVD portion makes sense, I never thought of that. I figured that Alpine might offer a US DVD navigation disc, prolly wouldnt be that lucky. Ive seen a place on the net that imports radios for cars, but no cool alpines, just pioneer, panasonic, sony and Clarion. They also offered a converter that would allow the radio to work in the states.

Another problem you might run into is that if you listen to the radio you might have a problem getting your favorite station cause i noticed when i was in Japan last that there stations are on a lower FM frequency.
