I have a 1989 240 sx manual 5 spd completely stock. 130,000 km on it - interior in excellent shape (no cracked dash, no torn or worn upholstery, all instruments in excellent shape). AC, power locks/sunroof, new aftermarket CD/radio player. Original owner, lady driven - all maintenance done professionally. Had 3 paint jobs (was taken down to bare metal each time). Last paint job 5 yrs ago - custom black cherry metallic - no dents and no rust. Car was never raced or speed tested - all mileage was city/highway miles. Radiator and all hoses etc replaced a couple of years ago. transmission/motor/clutch etc all original.

The car was written off a couple days ago by a sweet 84 year old lady who t-boned me. I am fighting with the insurance company over the value - any ideas what I could reasonably expect for a value on this car?

I'd say maybe $ 2000-3000. 240's hold their value. Go to kbb.com and find out how much it should be worth.

I don't know if it would be much since it's an 89. The way you describe it though, on E-bay you'd probably get well over $3000 U.S. Kelley Blue Book says retail value is around $2400 U.S. $2000 for private and $1500 for trade-in. Hope that helps.

Thanks all - unfortunately I'm in Canada and the KBB site is strictly US (could not get in to check it out without an american zip code). Will look for an equivalent site in Canada.

Find classified ads of other 240's where the owners are asking for about how much you want, preferably a bit more. Market value and all...
