ok i have a 92 240sx.....stock everything and it has a suspected blown head gasket but im not sure...when i try to start the car it fires and runs for a little...but if i try to give it gas it dies, and if i just let it sit it dies too...there is oil coming out the exhaust a little and white smoke...also there is oil dripping down the front of the block near behind the fan shroud and right by the pulleys...

anyone have a clue what my problem could be before i start pulling apart the engine?

Yeah that would be the headgasket.

White smoke = Burning coolant. Clue 1.

Oil leaking on the block = no seal around the head. clue 2.

sounds like you have a leak or two. If its smoking then you have either bad valve seals or rings, but since you die then if you have bad rings then your compression is $hit so it dies. If you have access to compression tester check your compression with no plugs in and remove your fuel pump relay.

If you don't have a tester then pour 1 ounce of oil in each cylinder reinstall plugs quick and fire it up and if it runs good for a few minutes then you have bad rings for sure.

The oil coming on the front of the engine is probably the timing cover leaking or the valve cover depending on where it starts.

put some lucas oil additive and that should help with the smoke, did wonders for me. and as for the leaking by the pulleys, id guess the front main seal, mine is shot to **** as well. good luck on it
