I locked my key in the trunk. Here are the answer to some of the questions that may help.

1. Yes it is my only key.2. Yes, I tried removing the seats.3. Yes I disconnected battery for hours and even tried pulling on the trunk while pulling on the trunk lid opener while reconnecting battery.4. Locksmiths wont touch the M45 for some reason???5. I get different answers from different Nissan dealerships whether they can make my key by the VIN. I hate to have it towed and then they say "my bad, but we can't do it"6. I tried running a hot wire straight from the battery to the fuse socket with the battery disconnected from the car, thinking the alarm was killing the hot to the fuse, but I guess it is deactivated after the fuse block and before the switch. Weird!!!

Any ideas on how to pop the trunk on my M45 2003.

Hey there,

If you do have access to the trunk1.Through center of the back seat, there is a small tab attached to the trunk lid, pull the tab and your in.

If you do not have access to the trunk1.You should be able to get a cheap key cut at the dealer. If you have proof of ownership. (Licence and registration, in many states) Tell them you do not need a key to start the car just to open the trunk. Should be pretty cheap.

I need access to my trunk, I do know about the handle. I am thinking about taking the woofer out the rear deck if I cant disable the alarm.

I am not sure about getting a key made, since the dealer is 110 miles away. Not sure if Nissan can do it,some say they say they can, some say they cant. Im gonna call the again tomorrow.

AWW That sucks. I would call the Nissan dealer and plead your case with them. Maybe they can call Infiniti and get the code if they cannot get it with their system. If you go in there with a positive attitude and ask nicely they should help you out.

Good Luck

Im gonna try again tomorrow with the Nissan dealer, but F the Infiniti dealer in Augusta. I know someone knows how to disable the alarm. If they dont wanna post, I can give my phone number to keep that info safe. There has to be a way.

Do you have a "Trunk Pass Through"? If so can your arm reach the emergency trunk release lever? That is/would be the fastest way to open the trunk.

Don't hold me to this...but there are several sites on the internet that give the wiring diagram for the 2003 M45 security system. They all indicate that the security system connects to the trunk release circuit at the Body Control Module (drivers kick panel) on pin 64. It appears that this is the negative lead from the unlock circuit.

If you are a gambler, you could find that control module, find pin 64 which should have a purple wire on it...and ground that pin.

If I am right, you should then be able to just open the trunk normally.

No guarantees on this...but you can look on google for the diagrams and see if I'm right. Of course, if I'm wrong, you might just fry your alarm and or something else.

Thanks to everyone on the forum for the advice. This forum kicks A$$. The Nissan dealership 30 minutes away, up in Vidalia GA was able to make the key from the VIN. It took 36 hours, but the trunk is open and the wifey has the keys that were locked in. Now she's riding like a queen. Thanks again everyone.
