no, it does it as soon as you start the car, and then it goes away, but it comes back, and not nearly as loud. but loud enogh to hear it when the windows are down, and it goes away at above 2500 rpm

All I can hear is an exhaust leak from the turbo.

idk, ive never herd exhaust leak that made that tick noise. i was watching some videos on youtube, and i found one that sounds the same and the owner said it was the VVT rattling, which ive never herd of. so does anyone else have an openion on this?

Im not sure what that noise is, but i can tell you it is definitely not an exhaust leak.

I have a similar sound but it comes from where my alternator belt runs over a pulley, how hard did you look for the sound? and whats a more specific location of it?

mine sounds about the same as in the video. Mine is under the valve cover. I dont know whats going on and I dont dare to run the car. it happened after my friend rebuilt my engine and put it back into the car. We took out the valve cover and ran the car. It sounded somewhere like timing chain and the tensioner. But the timing chain was really tight

mine doesnt happen during idle. But instead, it starts when the engine is at 2000 to 2500 rpm. as the rpm goes higher, the knocking goes faster, any idea for me?

if you cant figure it out just check the lifters just in case. pull the cams out and then you can pull the rockers off then pull the lifters out if you can compress them then they need to be bled. Dont do it if you dont know what your doing you dont wanna mess anything up. good luck

we did bleed the lifter...but the sound is still there. it happens at higher rpm from 2000 and up. anyone knows what might it be? it happens when I accelerate the car, and as soon as i let go the throttle, the sound goes off.

i bled all the lifters...but I have my friend's boss to hear it. He is a mechanic. and the first thing he said was the lifters. So Since i did bleed the lifters already, I am guessing maybe the lifters are bad. So I am just gonna buy a new set

how long have you run the motor after the install? i know even if you bleed the lifters, it still takes some time to gain oil pressure again, and the tapping could be because of the lifters not having oil, (bleeding helps butit still occurs) it happens after loss of oil presure, new motor or various other things, if its been a while since your install check your oil pressure to make sure your set. good luck
