Some tool put wood grain laminates on my 92'. Problem is not just the glue, but the discoloration of the surface under the wood laminates (especially if the car has lived in a state with lots of sun load). I pulled some of the trim off and spent a load of time getting the glue off the parts, only to find the parts had changed color slightly. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND JUST BUYING NEW TRIM PARTS. E-bay is a great source. Best of luck

There is a previous post on this topic (I think it postdates the shift to the newer baord software) by Jason Burtman about how to remove these appliqués and attempt to remove the glue.

If not, perhaps he will post again.

Yeah....

I think that entails heating it up wiht a hairdryer.. That will turn it to mush and you should be able to get off this way....

Probably much easier to get new pieces...

Here's the post Maxnix referred to from Jason B. I did a search on - remove AND wood AND trim in the Infiniti General forum. Jason B's post is 2/3rds the way down. I'd try to remove some on a small inconspicuous place to see how it looks underneath.

<thanks for the key piece (post by Jason) Brian, amde finding it easier>

I think it's a safe gamble. If you don't want the wood trim, you try to take it off and save the surface underneath, if that doesn't work, start the ebay/parts yard search. Might be worth looking into the Cheap Q, probably lots of parts for you there??

<would be easier to know if it's "close to you" & "the right year", if your profile was updated, thanks :)>

Rex is the master of searching :)

Also, in some cases you just can't replacement pieces for your interior, like mine for example...they just don't make blue interior pieces anymore...or sell them. In fact, I've never seen a car with my color combo ever.

The dash trim on my 91 was real wood veneer with a laminate overlay. I spent a week or two removing it one little piece at a time when I bought the car. Other drivers thought I was nuts, sitting at a stoplight ripping the dash apart. Just find a loose edge on a hot day & pull gently.

I rolled the adhesive with my thumb to remove it.

The black underneath wasn't discolored.

I just bought a used dash (yes, the whole dashboard). If anyone wants my wood dash its free, you pay shipping.
