ON a 1992 nissan 240? Recentley rebuilt motor has about 1850 miles on motor, The waterpump does not leak or not noisy. I replaced the thermostat / Overheats on the freeway then i have to turn the heater on and burn my feet for the motor to cool down OR pull over for a brief period. What a pain in the FOOT!

I have seen where a waterpump's blades have rusted off and caused it to overheat ! due to poor or no circulation of the coolant

It's possible, but not likely if it's a new or reman. water pump, which I'm assuming since it's a rebuilt motor.

Check belt tension to make sure it's spinning (not really an issue but just to be thorough), also you could have an air pocket somewhere in there, you would need to remove the burp screw in the manifold and refill the radiator until coolant comes out the hole.

What about a clogged rad? Maybe the coolant channels in the block had some grmie in them following the rebuild. This could gunk up your rad causing the poor circulation, and poor cooling.

Just my $.02.
