I was wondering if a silvia s13 motor could fit into a US s14 body? Could it work?

Thanks

yes, but it's not worth spending that much money for a motor with a little more power than the s13. plus IMO i think it's not worth it to have a 6 speed transmission with a 4-cyl unless you plan on reaching 200mph+

but what do i know?

Low mileage is always good too. I would *assume* in most cases a S15 sr would have lower miles on it considering they're '99's.''

and the S13's are so SEXAY..especially a well taken care of HB w/ sportlines and some pertay rims.

Yes.... but you will pay about $1000 more for the engine, and about $1000 more for the install. Point being, for 2 grand you could do a HELL of a lot more with the s13 SR..... putting out FAR more than the extra 25(or so) HP of the s15 SR.

yea, well since daunt gives that guarantee where all motors are under 35k miles, then i really don't care, b/c that's basically brand new.

S13 SR's only put out like 205hp correct?(not trying to be smart..b/c I certainly don't know that much about SR's). So 255as opposed to 205 is pretty nice. Plus it's newer w/ a bigger turbo that would probably in most cases be in good shape You could crank more out of it...lower miles..(my limited knowledge limits my reasons that S15 sr's are better so I'm done now. :) )

**yea good point about the daunt selling s13 sr's with under 35k ..so strike the low mileage off my list ? :)

Sorry, my bad. I was thinking s14 SR blacktop... 220HP. OOOPS!

But still, for $2000 you can surely get more than 50hp out of it.

For 1000 you can get more than 50hp.

Doesn't the S15 have 248hp, not 225?

S15 motors aren't worth it. The 6-Speed is weak and the price is more than DOUBLE what you would pay for a redtop or 180sx blacktop. From what I understand, you can also get more power out of the s13 motor b/c of the design. Get a 180SX blacktop and save that couple of grand for a big a$$ turbo!!!

no actually try going up another G no make the 2G the S15 motor on Ebay is $5,000 and then you'll need like 1500 or more most likely more because the driveshaft is longer then the s13 and you'll also need the S15 lsd and rear axle just to make things easier

It's still an SR20det though, the main reason it makes more power it the ball-bearing T-28 turbo. If anything, from what I understand, the S13 sr's head flows the most air , and you can always change the turbo on the S13. Plus, I've read in a lot of place the S15 transmission is pretty weak. I mean, unless your just gonna leave the engine stock, then go for the S13, its just a better investment. you can find them for like $1,200.00 on ebay (if your feeling lucky), and they can be tuned to make the same horsepower levels as the S15 sr. If you took all the engine modifications Signal did to their S15, and got their equivalents for an S13 Sr, you'd have an almost identical setup. You should have no problem pulling off 600hp out of a built S13 SR with a T-78 (or T-88, they switch it around from what I understand).

BTW, I saw the signal S15 at a the import expo here in texas a few months back, almost spooged my pants.

The 6-speed being weak is a falacy.

The 6 speed is considered weak because it fits 6 gears in the same space as the 5 speeds fit 5. Thats where the problem lies, more gears in same space = less material per gear.
