can a new uncut m35 key be programmed for ex35

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I made some posts about an Infiniti m35 that I wrecked recently, well , as it turns out I have two brand
new uncut keys that I purchased as backup for m35. One of the keys I got from the dealer on August 14
is broken as it doesn't totally lock to the front part of the key. I looked closely and it appears as though
the Panic portion of the key was forced inward permanently since it is slightly recessed from the outer
body. The M35 key fobs are 4 part buttons with one specifically for the trunk. The dealer is going to provide
a new key but I thought I would get the others programmed while I was at it. The dealer nonchalantly said
just make an appt, drop on by and we'll do it. I happen to live a 1/2 an hour from the dealer ship so we are
looking at a 2 1/2 hour round trip. I am irritated that they can't access a key pattern from my vin, I thought
that would be possible since I had it done with some vw keys that I once owned.
Any suggestions or experience would really be helpful.
thanksa

The EX smartkey doesn't have a trunk button so I doubt it but you will need to ask your dealer. All your keys should be able to lock into either fob though.
