Can a er34gtt neo engine flow 400+ Dyno pack kws from factory runners?

Discuss the RB20, RB25 and RB26 series engines.

Has anyone made over 400kw from NEO using factory runners??

Or are the factory runners and inlet of the head just to small to push over 300kw

I'm too lazy to convert KW to HP.

But when you say runners and inlet of the head. You mean Intake Manifold and intake ports correct?

I think there are guys making like 500 HP with Neo's. But most people go with. A greddy Manifold since it faces forward, dunno if it flows any better though.

Short runners are supposed to be good for higher RPM power. Longer runners are supposed to be better for lower RPM power and torque.

I have factory inlet runners with the plasmaman plenum attached to it. It makes274 rw kw dyno pack at 8psi. But after that if we increase the boost up to 15-20+ it wont make more power. It makes a horrific sound echoing from what sounds like the turbo. We done exhaust checks, intercooler test, inlet cams at 120deg and ex 115 everything bang-on and we cant figure out why it wont make more power. The head should be able to flow a easy 700hp. So now we're considering changing the plenum to a greddy one and before we did i wanted to try and find a car running over this much HP using factory runners275kw is about 370BHP give or take i think

i had a similar problem with mine..well sorta...when i tried to turn the boost up the turbo would start blowing the spart out...i ended up closing the spark to .015 and the problem still exsisted...i ended up going with a set of splitfire coilpack and the problem was completely gone...i even opened the plugs up to a nice .028 ...havent had a problem since.

After further discussion today we think we may have been sent the wrong tomei camshafts. What we are supost to have a Tybe B Tomei Pon Cams with 9.15 Lift 260s. We have put the pon cams onto a camshaft data machine and have gotthis print out. From our measurements there 290-300 degree cams. However we are unsure where Tomei are getting there 260degree measurements from. We think that maybe they made a mistake and gave us R33 Cam shafts putting them in the wrong box ( hydraulic ) when we have solid. Both solid and hydraul will fit into the neo with out really seeing any difference by eye.

Can anyone comment on this file; are they 260s or other??http://www.tomei-p.co.jp/_2003...html3

What are the specs on the turbo (both sides). Sounds like compressor surge (the REAL compressor surge) from a poorly matched hot vs cold side. Can you post a vid?

BTW, factory intake runners and cams will easily flow enough for over 300rwkw (400rwhp).

Hi Cj, it's notthe turbo. Turbo has been tested on 2 other engines with no problem. Video no sorry. Turbo is a 3540.63 housing. We have drilled a hole in the exhaust housing of the turbo and thats fine ( well suited tuner said )
