can a 4gen 5spd be faster the a 5gen

because today i pulled up on a 5gen at the light and we ran like 4 blocks and i pulled like 2 cars on him how is this possible i have a intake and y pipe but I'm 300 and have 2 12s in my trunk can some1 tell me what happen

Most likely, he simply wasn't trying.

An early 5th gen wouldn't be a whole lot quicker than your 4th gen, though.

he was trying because when we got to the next red light he said that my max is fast and he ask what i have on it.and with my i told him not much

00-01 5th gens are heavier and while they make better high-end power, reality is with the stock 6500rpm redline they don't rev high enough to take advantage of the extra power after they shift-- they fall out of their powerband.

Now if he was an `02-`03 he shoulda been significantly faster than you, even if you had intake/y-pipe.

yeah if he was a 5.5 gen with 3.5 he wouldve beat you.
