Wow that is a vauge question. If you bothered to do a search you will find that every manner of engine has been crammed into a 240sx engine bay. I have seen Chevy v8's and Nissan inline 6's. If you have the funds you can make anything fit with in reason.

A million dollars, eh? I could easily make it fit for that kind of money. I'll take that in cash please.

I think in a few years its not gonna be a super rare swap as nice torque and low mile G35 and3 50Z enginese will become available from wrecks for not a lot amount of money.

When you add up the sales of RWD VQ35de's sold in last 2 years alone thats a LOT of engines..

Used ones are around $2500 right now (must be a hard swap tho electronically, so probably not yet worth it at that price to make it fit I bet).

But once they come lower (and I bet they will) it will be more viable.

Sounds like a very viable idea, now if only I knew where I could find a totaled G35 Coupe or 350Z donor, that'd be great.

Or a G35 sedan, or FX35...Finding them isnt too hard. Finding one I can afford is the hard part.

I would like to see this swap. Like Fred said, I'm sure we'll see plenty in the next few years.

Shoot....i'd rather drop a Chevy 305ci....not a great deal of weight gain over the VQ35, greater supply of cheaper parts, bulletproof block....and did i mention the uber gobs of power waiting to be unleashed, all without a turbo?

Dont get me wrong though....the VQ35DE is still an awesome engine, great powerplant to begin with (287hp, thats hella good with out a turbo or some kinda forced induction), or VQ45DE from the FX45...saw one of those dropped in to a 240Z and TT'd, 800 horses at the wheels

SimplEnigma;

FX45 engine is VK45de not VQ45de.

(Also VH45de exists awesome engines with strong bottom end six bolt mains w/ girldle 2 cross mains hemis combustion chamber but hjeavy engine)

VK45 de also becoming more plentiful ( still expensive tho comared to a Sr clip.)
