can 240 frames handle the torque?

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

hahahahahaha there's 240s with over that out there that havent had any problems, Ivan's ka powered 240 had like 600 ish from what i remember and ran 9's in the quarter. your problem isnt gonna be the horsepower or torque its gonna be finding traction to use all that horsepower and torque

If you're making that much power and running that fast you're going to have a cage anyway...

the silvia drive axles, at least for the s14, are supposed to be a bit stronger, but i heard that the stock 240 rear end can handle about 500 hp fine.

they can have that much torque, but not when launching, and thats when it could twist your frame, not rolling half way down the track. lets put it this way. my friends ls1 porche has 380 hp, and 380 torque. it gets 350 torque at 2000 RPMS! you should see the dyno sheet, its nuts!

thats why i asked if the 240 can handle that, thats ALOT of torque when launching

that car lifted the front wheels when it launched...its the only 240 ive seen do that, including cars with ls1s

trust me if theres a car that wouldve test the frame itd be his

I plan on tieing the frame together to help with this. Then again, I may be adding a procharger to my LS6.

Whats wrong with you? You come here and ask a question and then argue when you get given the correct answer.

There are more than a few big power/torque s13 chassis running quick times with no chassis problems. You think people run 9sec over the 1/4 by just rolling off the line?

Hasn't anyone else used frame ties?
