I surf, and usually i put my car key inside my wetsuit...yesterday was my first trip to the beach to surf since i bought the g...i got worried, and didnt put it in the wetsuit, but instead stashed it on the underside of the car. That basically caused me to worry the entire time i was out in the water.

So, is there a chip or something in the key that isnt supposed to get wet or can i take the key in the water??

Thanks~

There is a transponder in each key. I think that it will be electrically sensitive to water.

I wouldn't take the key into the ocean.

While I think the key would be water resistant, I don't know if I would go as far as getting it wet. What you can do is get a pouch for it like those used by rafters.
