I bought a 92 240sx coupe with a blown motor. i swaped a ka from a 96 240 into it. at first when the car was taken over 2000 rpms it would start cutting out. i changed the fuel filter and started putting 93 octane gas in it. it ran alot better but the acceleration is still horrible and it still cuts out ocassionally. i bought fuel injector cleaner and that didnt help. i dont know what to do to it. anyone have any ideas?

96 motor is ob2 and a 92 240 is obd1 so u have to convert the motor to a ob1.and if thats not it also sound like u might need to get a new maf or its unpluged

Did you use the '92 intake system and exhaust system on the '96 motor? If not, then that is most likely the problem.

I believe there's a difference in the TPS between the two.

some kind of idle air sensor- map sensor, tps sensor, maf sensor, idle air screw loose (in the intake manifold), just to name a few.

u need to use the 92 intake manifold, or at least the top half with all the obd1 stuff on it. i even had to do this when i put a 96 motor in my 95!
