Camshaft Valve train Cover leaks/weep

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Anyone of you guys check if you have some kind of oil weep (not dripping) anywhere near the valve train cover gasket? I am getting a very small amount of oil residue (small amount) near the passenger side of the front engine close to the PCV and Camshaft cover gasket. It seems like both side. the PCV looks clean around it.

I am not sure if I was just sloppy when I filled the oil during the oil change.
That area ( front of engine) is prone to getting oil when you fill it up and drop some oil outside the fill hole. Right now, I did clean the engine and let it dry and I will observe it for a few days if traces of oil will show up there again. Car is still underwarranty at 73k Miles.

Anyone had this issue?

mine is as dry as.... eating potato chips and saltines in sun with nothing to drink...

I just hit 69K last week. still relatively low miles - specially since my wife's RX has 120K, son # 1's RSX has 175K and son # 2's accord coupe has 183k!

Since I just cleaned the engine bay last night and now everything is dry, it looks like no oil weep so far. I will observe it in a few months if there will be oil close to the valve train cover seal.

Hopefully, the oil came from the last oil change that I did. Sometimes, I get sloppy filling the engine with oil and drop a few oil outside the filling tube.

BTW! I had a loaner Q50 base for two days and I was not impressed!
It is way too smooth for my liking. Power is there in sport mode, but it does push me back to my seat like the G37 sedan. I am sure the G37 and the Q50 run the same 0-60 at 5.2-5.4 ? , but the G37 sedan power is more noticeable due to
less smoother transmission and noisy exhaust note compare to the Q50. I will take the G37 sedan any day.

The Q50 interior is way better than our EX35. Also, I thought our EX35 power amd ride comfort are smoother than the G37, but the Q50 beat both for smoothness in power delivery and ride comfort. Sometimes, I get bored driving it the Q50 base :gapteeth: :
