Iv got this problem with a cylinder her a ca18det I've found camshaft graze on the front of the intake camshaft bearing its covered the oil hole with the rubbed off aluminum from the head's cam caps are ok
Would I be ok to use the cam caps on another head which is exactly the same?

I THINK the cam caps are supposed to go with the head. They are clearanced for that specific machining job for optimal operation.

I thinik its supposed to be a micro polished surface, with very tight clearances.

It would probably work, at least for a little while. It wouldn't really be good to have your cam potentially wallowing around either.

Ok papasmurf thanks. I did try the caps on the spare head I had & they were kinda real tight in there! Are the cams supposed to be tight or move by hand cause you certainly can't move em by hand it's with a spanner that they'll move.

With the valves in there, you pretty much have to use a wrench. Compressing those valve springs is a pretty monumental task haha.

I did take the.valve lifters out & tightenedthe holders but they were still very stiff. Think they would need to be connected to crankshaft for it to be turned

You shouldn't rotate the cam with the lifters and buckets out.

Ahh ok I was told to check the cams take.out the lifters & the cams should rotate by hand. If the cams were loose (free to be turned by hand) then I guess it would leave too much camshaft end play? As they'd be moving back & forth.
