Ive done some searching and havent found what i need to know. If im pulling the head to change the head studs and head gasket how hard is it to swap the cams and the valve springs. Also is it really worth it to port and polish the head? Im thinking about going with the tomei cams because they say they are maximized to not have to use cam gears. What do you guys think about that? Also what lift should i get. My plans when doing all of this is the gt3071r, 740 cc's etc. I want to put 450 tops(but never use it... just know that its there) but have 400 hp as my goal on high boost until i get the bottom end built.

Is it difficult to change valve springs? You'll want the tool to do it right. Otherwise it'll be a pita.

Cams are easy enough once the head is out. I'm skeptical about the claim tomei has on their cams, as their own derive and genesis engines will include cam sprockets that are adjustable. Probably better off than other brands right off the bat, but if you're seeking every little bit, I'd still suggest the adjustable sprockets.

Port and polish couldn't hurt but not sure if it's been dyno proven or not on the SR20DET. If the head is out and you're willing to cough up the cash for a good port and polish vs a janky job then sure why not. I think you'd probably get more benefit from some valve work than a p&p though.
