I have a 2004 G35 and it keeps blowing the camshaft position sensor (passenger side) First time I replaced it lasted about 6 months now it blows almost immediately. I've replaced with one from a local parts store (not OEM)

Was wondering if I should replaced with OEM parts and do I need to replace the sensor on the drivers side as well ? Thanks for any advice.

in answer to question one, I can't begin to describe all the head-scratching and hand-wringing I've seen over the years from aftermarket Hall sensors. There are lots of parts on any car that are fine to replace with aftermarket, but cam and crank sensors are not among them. Stick with OEM, or at least riceburner brands like Denso, Hitachi, and NTK. To your second question, when a part doesn't generally suffer from old age (which Hall sensors don't), don't replace what ain't broke.
