camshaft position sensor

I have a 2003 i35 infiniti and i need to replace one of the camshaft position sensors. I was told it is the sensor for bank 1. But i dont know which bank is which. Is bank 1 on the left cylinder side- radiator side, or is bank 1 on the ride cylinder side- the firewall side?

I just got back from AutoZone (I went there bc the check engine light was on) and found that codes P0011 and P0021 were the problem. P0011 is the Bank 1 sensor (front), P0021 is the Bank 2 sensor (rear). which code did it give you? The AutoZone guy said that Bank 1 is the left cylinder side -- could someone else please confirm this??

Also, the AutoZone tech printed off a troubleshooting list, but I need help deciphering this --Intake Valve Timing control circuit failure.Probable causes:1. IVT control solenoid open or shorted2. cam/crank sensors are out of phase3. dirt buildup at control valve

HELP! can someone decipher this? I don't know how to troubleshoot #1 or #2, but I'm thinking #3 could be done by washing the engine? ??
