Camshaft position sensor ???

I've been doing some maintenance on my VQ35de engine and was wondering if the camshaft position sensor is supposed to have little divots on the tip of it????? The Nissan repair manual I have says the tip should be smooth, but the pics on CSK/O'reilly auto have divots. I pulled my sensor to verify ohms and it has one divot on the left engine bank angled, sensor and two divots on the right engine bank, straight sensor. Anyone know for sure???? Divots or no divots???
