I installed my brian crower cams and noticed the timing marks were off. I was just wondering if i need to roll the cam over a couple teeth over. When I installed the exhaust cam I had trouble with one of the cam lobes pressed up against the rocker arm and wouldnt let me make the dowel pin set at twelve o'clock so i just installed it rolling the cam over making the dowel pin go towards more on the 11 o'clock side (idiot). I have the green intake and orange exhaust sides right. The timing marks are off but both the lobes at front of engine are facing opposite but not identical like when i searched and the lobes at the back of the motor are facing towards each other downwards, and pistons 1 and 4 are up top. The crank pulley is at the second mark. Do I bolt the cam cap down forcing the exhaust cam to sit enabling the dowel pin to sit at 12 o'clock? Thanks

Well even if you did tighten it down like that you still need 9 links between the cam marks.I kinda had this problem too, but not to that extent.

Just make sure you're on TDC cyl 1 and set the marks down next to the cam to 10 and 12, not the chain link marks

Also the way you tighten down the cams is like this

9 5 1 3 710 6 2 4 8

But instead of starting with 1 and 2 you start by tightening down 9 and 10 then continue through 1 - 10. So that may help you keep the cam in place where you want it.

I forget factory torque spec somewhere around 7.8 or something.I would do a first round of about 4ft/lbs then a second round of 7.8ft/lbs

So take all your cam caps off and set the chain links where they need to be set the cams where they need to be and do as I said above

Ight, I planned on doing exactly what you just said, just needed a second opinion before i did it. So basically loosen all caps, move cam over, tighten. Thanks for your help.
