Camshaft Confused, Please Clarify For Me

I swear that I have heard like 30 different opinions on the Camshaft swap from Altimas into 240SXs, can somebody answer the following questions for me?

1. Can the Camshaft from an Altima be dropped into a 91-94 240SX w/ KA24DE?

2. If So, What year Altima?

3. Which Camshaft do you remove from the Altima?

4. Which Camshaft is the Altima Cam replacing in the 240SX?

If somebody that is dead sure about this swap can tell me, I'd be very much abliged, all of this searching for this swap has confused me beyond all possible belief.

From everything I've read, it's false.

And think about it:

If the Altima 248-degree exhaust cam worked as an intake cam for the 240SX, then why would Nissan Motorsports bother re-pinning a '91-92 S13 KA exhaust cam for the cam set??? (If you don't know, the Nissan Motorsports cam set is 248/248, which is 2 '91-92 exhaust cams, one re-pinned for use as an intake cam).

And they do actually re-pin one - I've installed a set, and you can see where the old alignment pin was ground off...

240SX.org has a lot of bad info, lots of small inaccuracies...especially concerning VLSDs and this cam thing.

I know the altima cam that everyone wants is a 248 degree intake. That would make the 91-94 be 248/248. Dunno what year though...

no one really clarified this topic. Is it safe to take the cam from an altima and drop it into your 240?

Are you doing this because you need to? Or because you want better performance. The rumor was that the Altima cam is wilder than the S13 KA cams, but most of the tech savvy guys in the 240sx Community say this is false. The 91 KA cams are reported to be the wildest OEM cams available for the KA. Even without using 2 exhaust cams.

OEM 91-92 cams are 240 intake / 248 exhaust

In all fairness you won't gain alot from the increased intake duration due to the design of the intake plenum and the KA's lack of cylinder filling at high RPMs caused by it's long stroke.
