you can just get one from an sr20de out of like a g20 or sentra ser.. you can buy a tool called an easy out and it comes with a drill bit and an easy out. you drill into the broken bolt and then bang the easy out in the hole and back the broken bolt out.

ok I need some help making my next decision, I couldnt het the part of the broken off bolt out of my head by using the "easy out" bolt/screw extracor ect. what have you but it just wouldnt bite and honestly Im not sure what to do next

what options am I left with?

A) considering its about 1/2 - 3/4" down in the boly hole so you cant weld a nut on it

B) easy out failed and I've heard too many horror stories of those breaking off anyways and how much more difficult that makes it

C) drilling it out and re tapping it perhaps? the thing about this is Im afraid Im going to drill too deep or into the side wall of the bolt hole ughh it just seems like a daunting task Idk maybe Im being paranoid

D) and lastly of the options I've considered which is the longest hardest and most expencive is to remove the head and and take it to a machine shop

so if anyone anyone at all has any suggestions Im all ears I could really use some advice, thanks

honestly... I would make a shop do it. aluminum head and steel drill bits.... I recently watched as my buddy destroyed the aluminum head on his 4g63. not a good day...

I would agree that this is the smartest idea but how difficult is it to remove the head

Same thing happened to me, RAS on a friends SR. I had some JB quick weld, found a long skinney screw and put a nice drop of JB weld on it and put it in the hole. Held it there with my hand for about 5 min, it stayed standing straight in the hole so i left it for about 30min than i just unscrewed it with the broken bolt still attachted. That broken piece should be loose in the hole so u can turn it. Worth a try just take it slow.

-The sentra SR has the same bolts, since i used them.

hella easy. there is a walk through in the faq sticky on the top of the sr20det rwd forum. basically the only thing you need to remember is that everything you remove must go back in in the same exact order. otherwise you loose the factory shim clearances and then you get uneven wear on the valve train.

haha i did this last year, i was so worried i would f*** my head up. well all you need isa guid for the drill bit, we burrowed one from our local machine shop. drilled and easy outed it. if all eslse fails you can use a helicoil to repair the threads. and i got my new one fro ma sr20de cost like 12 bucks through napa. if i had my disk i could get you the part number. but good luck and be careful
