I currently have Tomei procams 260/260 with type A valve springs that I want to install. Would it be safe to install them and drive about 25-30 minutes away to go get a tune? If it matters, my current rom tune is for stock cams and a HKS GT2530(my old turbo). I've replaced the turbo and have been driving with the GT2871R .64. So the question would be; will my current tune be able to compensate enough for the change of the turbo and cams to where I can safely drive my car to the shop?

Yeah just avoid high rpm. Keep under 4k.

Like Emperor said, drive without really getting into boost. My friend had HKS 264 Step 1 cams on his fully stock sr and now his #1 cyl is reading 60psi and #3 cylinder is reading 35psi.

He was on stock ecu, turbo, everything. Detonation from not tuning killed his engine.

Even if his sensor was fully operational, it can only stop the knocking so much... Knocking time and time again, not necessarily in a row can still kill an engine.

I'd just drive the 25-30mins, and swap cams if it were me. It's an hour to 2hour job at the most...
