Ok.. so I read all of the camshaft mega thread and I still have no idea what to use. Ive read all about 264 this 272 that and my question is what lift is every one using.

Stock for my gt28r. Stage 1 or 2 for gt2871r. Cams are for where you want your powerband to be! 272 would suck for a mostly dayly drivin sr as the powerband would be mostly over 4500-5500rpm! On the street low end is better, on the drag strip top end is the best!

Ok but I have a garrett 60-1 w/ a.63 ex and I dont even start to build boost untill 3800 rpm (that sux) my dyno pull took almost 30 sec. I was wondering if cams and possibly cam gears would help get full boost any sooner? Here is the link to my dyno runs if your interested.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5nuT4kaKBo

I just think it's something you'll have to live with if you want to keep running that turbo. Just fror something to think about. You can try adjusting boost response with a electronic boost controller. I'm just throwing that out there as I don't have personal experience with EBC's. I adjust boost with my wastegate actuator.

Stage 1 or 2 Cams would help spool a little faster as would a lighter flywheel ! But I would consult a shop that works on sr's just to be 100% sure on what you should do about your lag problem! What is the max power on that turbo? 450-500 whp-ish?

625-700 or somthing like that is what my turbo is rated at only because when I bought it new i had them add the 360deg thrust ect... But anyways I would like to have 400-500 whp but not at 7000 rpm, more like between 4000 and 6000. Im thinking I installed the wrong motor. Maybe I need to go V8

Thats whats killing your boost response ! Your gona need to get a turbo thats more in your power range for now untill you relly go for 6-700HP

What do the stages mean. Is that the lift? Some companies say you have to do head work and some dont. (Which Im going to do anyway) By Mazworx.

LIFT is how much the cams lift the valves. DURATION is how long the cams keep the valves open. Stage 1 is for a little more than stock lift and duration. BC cams stage 1 can be used on stock valve springs. HKS stage 1's can, but people have had problems as they have more agressive lift and duration! Stage 1's are best for low to midrange power band! Stage 2's must use aftermarket valve springs and are best for all out midrange power band's! Stage 3's and up are for higher HP and mid-high to high-high power bands! You dont want stage 4 cams on a dayly driver because your power band will kick in from 5000 rpm to 10,000 rpm and you wont have a good low end! That would be great for for drag racing but not for street or drift! Heres a review: Stages 1 and 2: low end for street, Stages 2 and 3: mid range for Drift and Stages 4 and up : HIGH end High HP Drag racing and time attack cars
