hey I wanna get some cams for my 96 240, I have heard that a s13 exhaust cam is 248 degrees and an altima intake cam is 248 degrees and both are direct fit on the ka24de.can anyone confirm this??

if not, know any1 good cams at a low price? (if you're like me, you don't really wanna spend $700 at Stillen getting a pair of ungrind cams)

any help/insight is greatly appreciated... thanks

you could try the PDM cams, i have them in my 240, and could feel a definite difference as soon as i installed them.

stage II PDM cams : Intake 219 duration, .379 lift, Exhaust 221 duration, .384 lift. These cams are VERY streetable, with no injector or computer upgrades required, and pass the strictest emissions with proper tuning.

Where did you get this info from?

I have been hearing that the 91-92 cams are 240 degrees intake and 248 degrees exhaust.

They are 240-248 and I dont know why pdm (where he got his info from) lists them the way they are.

I think the different numbers are confusing advertised duration with duration at .050 lift. Here's a little excerpt off a website I found:

The confusing thing about duration is the difference between “advertised” and “at .050-lift” duration. At .050-lift duration is measured from the point where the cam moves the lifter up .050 inch until .050 inch before the lifter is all the way back down. Most cam manufacturers differ in where they start and finish measuring for advertised duration. Some start at .004-inch lift, some at .008-inch and some measure it somewhere in between. That’s why the .050-lift numbers are the best to go by. A 280 cam (advertised duration) from one manufacturer could actually have less at–.050 duration than a 278 cam from another, due to the different points at which the companies measure advertised duration.

Hope that helps!

Is there any links to a how to or FAQ on checking the shims during the swap?

Thanks
