my sr20det s13 blacktop idles like it have aftermarket cams, is this normal? also my o2 volt is rich during idle 700- 850 mv. no code, drives normal, and gets 29 mpg on normal driving. the only engine upgrade is a full 3 inch exhaust, no cat, and k&n intake, stock boost.

Like every other car. Smooth, sometimes with minor blips.

Check your timing, and see if the engine smooths out with a slight amount of timing advance.

i checked my timing today, i got 15 degrees BTDC. i couldn't use a timing light, so i use a scantool(snapon) the idle is 750 to 800 rpm. how is a stock sr20det cam suppose to look like? a picture would be good.

Check for green and orange paint on the camshafts.

240 deg. (adv.) - 9.2mm lift

You might also have a bad injector o-ring, that will cause loping at idle.

the exhaust cam will have a longer pin than the intake cam for the cam sprocket.
