ok so im not too new at tire fitment and what not

this is what i managed so far: 15x8 -7 205-60-15 with roughly -2* of camber rear

Image

i plan on getting 17x9.5 and im trying to select tyres for them but this is the problem

im thinking 215-40 for the front and im sure that will be fine i got about -3* camber front and ill adjust it more when i see how those tyres fit

but would anybody like to shed some light onto whether it would be better to run a 235-40 and the least amount of camber as possible in stock body on the back (im willing to pull it as much as i can to fit it lol) or a 225-45 in which i can run less camber than that or 215-40 and run less camber than that

increasing tyre width would create a larger contact patch but so would reducing camber so im looking for the balance of grip and cheapness that we all want!

info would be great

215 is WAY too small for that size wheel. I'd say stagger the wheels if you want to run a 215 up front.

for the back, well im looking for more grip since im going turbo very soon

they are all around the same price and i would like to stagger them

im leaning towards 215-40 or 225 45 front but Id really like 235 -40 rear and just pull the hell out of it and run the least amount of camber i can with that tyre

ill try to rephrase the question

would the added camber i would gain from running a 225 45 instead of a 235 40 give me more grip than running the 235 40 with more camber to fit the wheel?

A lot of it will come down to tire. Different tire shoulders react to camber in different ways.

What's your end game? Unless you're trying to find tenths, you're WAY over-thinking things and worrying about stuff that doesn't matter to your average person. If you're just doing the drifting thing, the best guy out at Carlisle last year was in a Ford Ranger pickup truck, which goes to show that your setup means very little.

haha well im sorry but i will definitely disagree with you that the set up means very little

i have seen a ford ranger get down before it was pretty sweet

but proper suspension set up is insanely important otherwise we would all have stock suspension lolol and why some cars are set up to drift better than others, set up is important

but i value your input on the matter, if camber vs tyre tread width isnt too important ill just run what i was hoping to run

215-40 f
235-40 r

least amount of camber as possible...unless anybody else wants to add then ill just do this and work with it

Grip + a 235/40 on a 9.5" wheel does not go together. At least not to a normal person.

But if you're drifting, it doesn't really matter.

Get 235.40, front or rear. You look pretty low, so 225.45 would be way too tall and rub all over the place up front. Tire deformation would be less with 235.40 and would fit better, front or rear.

yeah i was just doing some calculations after i saw your post

the 002s i have on there have an inward distance of 94.6mm and the wheels i wanna run are 141.8mm but i checked rim tuck and people there seem to manage those wheels but idono if theyre getting as much angle as i am...

47.2mm extra inward is significant 1.85" ill have to turn to full lock and measure to see if i can clear those, i should

ill take a hammer to anything i cant clear lol

and the price difference from 215 to 235 is 5 bucks so i might just spend the extra 10 bucks and run all 235 40

.........

if im correct i think a 255 would be the wheel to go on a 9.5

and that will not not not fit at my height
