thanks a lot, i think im about to sell the agx/sportline combo and just get tein basics. about the tie rods, i dunno, all i know is the wheel jiggles a tiny bit and i sometimes hear a small "thud" when i brake. and when you jack up the car you can jiggle the tie rod a little also.. i dont really know what all the parts are so i dont really know how to inspect itskydragoness5 wrote:prepare to replace your agx's at least once a year. the agx's CANNOT handle that drop, plus the sportlines void the warranty they have (no more than 1.5" front or 1.8" rear or else its void) if you still can, i suggest selling the sportlines before you put them on and put on the eibach pro-kit, suspension techniques, tein s-techs or H&R springs instead. this is speaking from exp, i had sportlines once and they blew my front agx's exactly within a year, it was freaky. And annoying as hell to deal with.
unless you have 17" rims, or bigger (ick) you don't have to worry about *too much* of a camber change. It will change but it will probably still be at the far end of the OE spectrum for rear camber anyhow. You just may have to check up on your alignment more than usual which is imperative for a lowered car anyway.
How come you didn't post this in the suspension forum? You would get more input there.
edit: get tie-rods from pdm-racing.com, they have OE ones for a decent price, or get aftermarket ones from SPL parts. If you have a busted tie-rod i recommend replacing that before doing the suspension, that's a serious problem. Is the tie rod busted itself? or are the bushings leaking/cracked? Good luck
haha yeah, but there's an art to driving in nyc. ive put a couple 1" dents in my steelies but i think i have perfected my city driving skills by now to avoid most potholes. the car is sorta a daily driver, but im willing to sacrifice all comfort for a good autox carskydragoness5 wrote:your'e thinking of getting tein basic coilovers you mean? i wouldn't get 'em unless the car was going to see extensive auto-x/track use. they're kinda overkill if your car is a daily driver. well i noticed your'e from brooklyn, i've been to nyc enough to know the roads are ****. you don't have to sell the agx's just go with different springs. i recommend the pro-kit for that kinda of area. or even leave your stock springs on..i've seen those potholes on the belt parkway... sheesh!!
This is crap, I've had this exact setup for over 3 years now with over 40k miles on them in socal with no problems. No camber kit, nothing, but I did get a standard alignment after everything was installed. I love this setup, not to stiff yet not too soft(and they're adjustable).skydragoness5 wrote:prepare to replace your agx's at least once a year. the agx's CANNOT handle that drop
