My camber is eating through two sets of tires a yr for the last three years and besides getting an improvised camber kit(g35,z) My friend gave me the idea to get a lifetime alignment from a local shop and just get an alignment once a month or whenever need be. Is this a good idea and what are the pros and cons? The lifetime alignment only costs 150 btw

You probably already know this but make sure your toe is in spec.

I've heard lifetime alignments follow the buyer and not the cars so in that sense it'd be a great investment. I purchased a 6 month plan a while back because money was tight.

You could also try flipping your tires when one side is getting worn, especially if you have connections with a tire shop. If you can rotate and flip your tires, you can get a lot more life out of them.

My lifetime alignment is only good for my car when I own it. It has paid for itself 5 times over though, I get an alignment every time I change my wheels spring and fall. A good investment for sure.

Also keep in mind its only good for factory specs. Meaning, if you bring it in out of factory spec, they will return it to factory spec. If its NOT out of factory spec, they wont touch it. If you run coils and prefer an out of factory spec alignment, more often than not they wont do it for you. Check with the shop you are looking at for details.

sorry about this, I didn't want to open a new thread about camber again.

guys is it possible for the car to form a negative camber by itself? while I was doing the alignment today the mechanic said that my front tires are worn out @ the inner edges because of the negative camber, which was caused by the end links! Personally I don't think this is true.. maybe he's trying to get more $$$
any idea on how to check if the front tires really have a negative camber? I'm planning to change the tires anyway because they're 5 years old ...

Alignment shops can give you a print out that includes camber readings before and after. There are a number of camber tools available that you can use yourself too:

But you can tell by the wear of the tire. If the inside has more wear than the outside, you have negative camber (your wheel has an angle like this \ ). If the outside has more wear, then you have positive camber (your wheel has an angle like this / ).
