The idea behind it is the negative camber gives way better grip. This is a sports car. Correcting negative camber isn't really an option because the car's spec is around -0.9-1.0. Correcting it will push the top of the wheel out too far. You can do it but are you dailying the car 50+ miles a day? I highly doubt it. That's the situation when you'd want your camber to be straight to save tires.
Another reason for arms is to make it even left toright. Having -0.3-0.5 difference L to R will cause a pull. I've got adjustable upper arms and caster bars on my car. My car runs -1.3 camber and 9.5 caster left to right. My car pulls right but I think i've actually got a frame issue because my arms are extended in on one side and far out on the other to make the camber right. My RF wheel sits further back in the wheelwell than the LF too.
