hello all. i drive a 91 hatch and in a few days i was gonna go to down to this local auto hobby shop and throw some skunk2 lowering springs on it. i talked to the mechanic who i always get to inspect my car and he said i should get a camber kit if i was going to lower the car. so i am just curious if the kit is necessary, because the drop is only gonna be like 1.8 inches all around i think and i've never seen a 240 with negative camber after slightly dropping it on springs.

You probably won't need it. If anything, some negative camber is a good thing.

Always recommended that an alignment be done after any suspension changes. If anything, they might just be able to bring that (-) camber back into spec too.

The correction kit will most likely consist of a pair of eccentric bolts that you can find online for unedr $30 shipped to your door. If you are in fact a broke (no disrespect) student the kit will save you on tires. Some camber is good, factory spec will yield better results financially speaking.

keep the natural camber

if you plan on doing more suspension mods...this is the time for a lifetime firestone alignmnet

its 150 for a normal car

but 250 if you modded the suspension, so pay for it now, then mod it and save yourself 100 bucks AND have lifetime alignments! FTW

Toe will hurt you more then camber. If you drive your car hard, negative camber wont be an issue and your tires will wear evenly. Toe is what will eat your tires.
