Ok, I purchased some obx(yes, I know) camber bolts for my s13 to use in the rear since my car is missing the eccentric bolts stock. The alignment guy pointed out where they would be, but I have forgotten. These are the bolts with the lobes that can make small camber adjustments. So.... where do I install them and how? Thanks.

Here is what they look like

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItemthis is a link to an auction similar to the one that I one. (I got the 240sx bolts)

haha well apparently only two (the front two, possible none) of them are usable on an s13. The alignment guy told me that my car had not rear camber bolts, and so he could not fix my camber, so I bought these. After looking underneath my car, it is obvious that it does have the eccentric bolts, and he easily corrected my camber back to factory spec, even though my car is lowered about 1.5 in the rear. Two of those may be usable on the front strut mount, where the strut mounts to the spindle. Not sure though. I have upper pillowballs for my kts, so front camber is not an issue.

Is your car lowered, or have you had it aligned recently with poor results? Im just curious why you feel that you need that adjustability. The s13 does come with front camber adjustability.

Yea my car is lowered. Around 1.5 inches. I just got new tires and i really dont want them to be worn by the negative camber. How and where is the s13 adjustable in the front?

On my car, when the alignment shop does it, they just use the slotted hole on the lower kts mount. I think the stock struts have that slotted hole too. You may or may not have em depending on what model 240 you have.

The Slotted Hole is supposed to be used for Scrub Radius Adjustment, is what I've been hearing alot lately, and it makes sense to me.

The Camber plates are what you'd use to adjust camber.

Dont put the Eccentrics on the spindle. they belong on the inside of the FLCA. but the only reason you would need them with camber plates is if you needed like 4+ degrees of camber.

The slotted hole is what the alignment guys have always used to adjust the camber on my car. I have seen them do it, and it does make changes to the camber. What is scub radius? How are you supposed to adjust camber on an s13 that doesnt have camber plates? I have always been told just to let the alignment guys do their thing, and mess with the camber plates yourself if you feel the need.

Oh... I thought I saw you say that you had KTS coilovers. In that case then that slotted hole will be the only way.

On coilovers with camber plates I've been told that they still slot the bracket for Scrub Radius. Scrub radius is the distance between the Kingpin inclination angle and the center of the contact patch (see Kingpin thread). Adjusting it will change the way the car tracks and steering feel.

I would just give the alignment shop the specs you want to begin with. changing camber will change toe (not much... but still).

I do have kts, but have just had the alignment guys do what they typically do for the car. I usually watch the whole process. They get toe, camber, and caster back to spec, and leave the camber plates alone(I don't think they know that I have em). It seems better this way, because if I want to drive with more aggresive camber, I can easily adjust the plates evenly(because they both start at 0).

BTW, mcRussell, saw that ur in austin too. What all has been done to your car? Ever attend any meets?

On my car they were on the spindle stock (I have zenki)........

Where mine were installed:

front - top spindle bolt holding strut in.rear - ruca bolt on spindle.

However, I'm taking out my eccentric bolts since I have ruca & camber plates in front now, HAHA.

I may keep the front camber bolts if I can't get even camber on the camber plates w/ them in the same positions.

Yea, good idea naed on not letting them touch ur camber plates - they f'ed mine up (one side is way further to one side than the other bcs they didn't adjust the camber bolts... I have too many correction points for the typical alignment guy to deal with apparently ).

Zenki S14? Yeah... those dont have slotted holes I dont think. I'd think if you used them like that on an S13 with the slotted upper and eccentric bolt combo it would be really hard to set camber.

Alingment shops can get pretty retarded in a hurry. a friend with HEs went to get an alingment at NTB and after arguing with the guy for 10 minutes over how 2.5 degrees of camber wont cause him to crash - the guy asked for the spanner wrenches to set camber.
