I am getting a tapping noise when driving, only when it is changing gears and no other time but then and rud told me I needed to adjust the cam timing

well, cam timing is usually adjusted by rotating the cam gear/sprocket that the timint chain resides on while not rotating the rest of the assembly.

Are you wanting to know how to set the marks as from factory or how to degree the camshaft into close tolerances?

The alignment marks I'm unsure of on a the KA24DE as I haven't had the valve cover off of my DE yet. The KA24E has 2 silver links that must align on each marked tooth of crank and cam sprockets.If you do this you will have a valuable learning tool.
