I am getting a set of camshafts and cam gears for my skyline and was wonering if there is anything else i need/should to do along with it for it to perform the best with little risk of damaging my car as the rest of the engine is stock apart from the FMIC..

As I said, for no reason?

You are doing step 17 before the preceding 16 steps -1 (intercooler). No reason to change your cams.

I was pointing out that having an intercooler meant you had already taken at least one step.

First basic performance mods should be intake/exhaust (to include a front pipe). Then, maybe a boost gauge/controller.

After that, make sure all your suspension/brake components are up to snuff for what you intend the car to do.

Once that is good, then start working on things like cams, exhaust (turbo) manifold, turbo upgrade, IC and piping...etc.

You don't just throw a set of hot cams into an engine without supporting mods. It's pointless. You'll get a little gain out of it, but not enough to be worth spending that kinda coin so quickly.

Get a good stainless steel O2 housing. You know, the bit right after the exhaust side of the turbo. The stock one is cast iron. Replace it with a good stainless unit and it will cut down on turbulance and smooth out airflow out of the exhaust. It will also give you a bit better boost response as well.
