I have a 2001 Pathfinder that refused to start when it got real cold (around 0). It threw a 1320 code. I replaced the coils (all six) a year ago so we started with new plugs (NGK). That didnt work. It was then suggested that I replace the coils again. I replaced coil one a week ago so all i had to do was 2-6. Only two were available so we started replacing 3 and 5. Tested and stil through a code. We then took the new ones out and put them in 2,4,and 6. Still no luck. Where to go next? It runs fine and starts fine as long as the temp doesnt dip below 10F. Below ten it sounds like it wants to fire but falls just short. I am at wit's end here. Any suggestions appreciated.

Unfortunately, coil pack issues are rather common with 2001.0 model year Pathfinders. What is the manufacturing date of your Pathfinder? What brand coil packs did you use as replacements? Is P1320 the only current engine code?

What brand and grade of engine oil and which oil filter are you running? This may have a factor in your cold start issues.

Manufacturer date is 02-00. Unfortunately I used aftermarket coils ( i believe beck/arney). the 1320 is the only code thrown. As far as the oil and filter, I am not too consistent on that.

You have a 2001.0 model year Pathfinder. Beck/Arnley makes good aftermarket parts in my experience, those should be alright. I'd go so far as to ignore the P1320 code as long as you have no driveability issues. P1320 is something of a mystery when it comes to a sure-fire fix. Starting issues in cold weather might be a marginal battery. I'd suggest to have your battery tested.

Try to find out which oil & filter you're running.

There is an extensive diagnostic procedure for P1320 starting on page EC-506.
