wtf since when did they make a convertable in 97?i guess thats what they were talking about, i dont recall any cam seals on the ka, just the half circle pieces that are part of the gasket. honda cam seals are about the same diameter as the camshaft, and they go in the back(transmission end) of the head.VanNelson wrote:Quick info:'97 240 LE VertKa24deDOHC(It's red)
I just got a new cylinder head from NAPA today and there was a little slip inside the box that said the "Cam seals NOT installed". Is this referring to the rubber gasket (with the two half circles) that runs around the cover? Also, do you guys think they shimmed the cams and the valves for clearance already, since I bought the head w/ both cams & valves?
The slip of paper is probably referring to the two 1/2 moon rubber plugs that fit into the top of the upper timing cover.VanNelson wrote:I just got a new cylinder head from NAPA today and there was a little slip inside the box that said the "Cam seals NOT installed". Eh, I was just gonna assume that they were and drop it in the car, but I guess it'll be prudent to check them nonetheless.rogoman wrote:The slip of paper is probably referring to the two 1/2 moon rubber plugs that fit into the top of the upper timing cover.
The valve lifters may be shimmed correctly or not. You need to check the clearances yourself to make sure.
