Some of my friends have been taking there cams to machine shops and getting them reground for performance. But these guys are all building up popular ford and chevy engines so the shops have experience with the cams. Anyway has anyone brought there cams somewhere to get cut? Did you bring your own specifc specs? was it cheap? Di i need new shims if I am using my same cams?

If you have a cam reground it lowers the base circle and increases the clearance between the cam and follower/tappet. You will have to adjust it back to spec, different engine have different ways to do that and a fresh grind should have new tappets for longevity.
