anyone know if i can use MT cams in my AT TT heads without a problem or would i have to get my ECU updated?

the intake cam si a slightly different profile, remember the auto came with slightly less power, you might get a couple of those ponies back using the mt intake cams, exhaust are allt he same event he n/a's

The reason the AT TT had intake cams with a little less performance was to reduce wear on the automatic transmission - that is what I have read and it's really the only thing that makes sense lol. MT cams in those heads won't be a problem - AT NAs came with the better cams too. Really the only thing that would make a difference are the intake cams, so you can probably save a few dollars and just get those.

Ok well i have read that the cams in the NAs and MT TT are slightly larger profile like Evil said. I have intake cams off a NA motor that was blown that i was considering putting in there. What im worried about though is will my AT TT VTC selenoid function with the different cam without any ajustment to my ecu? (what im hoping to hear is that i can directly swap in the better cam as in plug and play) (thx for the help so far guys)

direst cwap, the vtc works on all the intake cams, well except for 96
