Well, I'm nearing completion on my KA build and had a question. Does this look right as far as where my cams should be positioned? The engine is at top dead center, and all my timing chain marks are right on. I just want to be sure before I mess something up.

Been a while since I snorted cams but I recall the cams lobes facing outwards away from each other and slighty pointed up from horizontal position.

I forgot the other thing that concerns me. The top dead center mark on the pulley does not match up with the timing mark, it is to the right about an inch. Is this normal?

Looks correct from the notches. Pics of the lobes help too.

Crank is timing off. TDC is around the second tick, your off the ticks completely. Came are where they should be, but the cran is off. You need to take the cam sprockets off, set the engine to TDC compression stroke and then put them back on.

dude..did you notice the crank pully bolt was not in?...allso..the cams lob's should be facing away from eachother BUT slightly [email protected] look strat across from eachother...allso..make shure to have the chain ajusted for the chain tentioner..when that fills with oil under pressure..it will change the position of the cams slightly if the chain is off by a tooth...just my thoughts.

/agreed. your harmonic balancer isnt set all the way in on your crank. looks like its not lined up with the key way.
