Ive been searching, only finding the same threads on all the forums. All the build threads I read, no one mentions adjustable cam gears. Are these not needed with a ka-t? Everyone talks about what cam, nothing about the gears.
*I see jwt is the only company offering the gears?

Whats the power limitations of the stock cams, pushed by a holset hx35 twin scroll?

I actually have extra cams laying around I have been wanting to toss in, but fear the outcome, my motor is currently fool proof cause I am a fool and sent about 15psi too much in a couple times... still running strong...

well the ka forum has a toin of info a guy on here name djpantsspecr did a ton of na ka cam tuning and what not, got boost and never put thought into it again, recently found the cams(a mint looking exhaust cam from a 91(a "hot cam") ) and a gear I drilled. But turning the mbc screw is much easier. I think thats why most people dont bother.

I would always recommend the adjustable cam gears with aftermarket cams. I've never tuned a set myself, but I've watched a couple of Japanese guys tune a GTR over on OKI. I was still pretty new at that stage, so I only watched and kept my mouth shut. I know they work very well if used correctly. If I were using a 248/248 setup or something I wouldn't bother. But I would if I were using anything else.

I think EasyE drilled a set of factory gears...dunno if he ever installed them though.

yeah I drilled a couple gears and never used them, as apparently the stock cam swap it still wouldnt net you 200whp in any confirguration... maybe if I got AM cams I would go ahead and install but even with the dual 248 you just retard 4teeth IIRC. That makes it a degree or so off still btu its close enough.

It should still be on here where djpants made a template you can print, with some discussion.

I know the purpose of cam gears. My question is why aren't people with build threads mentioning/using them. With the Kelford cams, its says its drop and go. So am I correct to assume, that you install, degree them out and are good to go?
