1993 DOHC 240SX :help

I have fuel and I have spark but the 240 will not turn over after a headgasket replacement. Now I think I have it timed correctly but I must not since it is not turning over. At TDC how should the cam lobes be?

Intake I have :#1 cylinder just released the valve closed (lobe pointing passanger side)#3 cylinder pressing the valve open (point down to the floor)

Does this sound right? what should intake and exhuast look like?

Is there any other problems you can think of? I do not have a FSM so I am not able to check the linesw I discounted and recontected but they seem all right since I am getting fuel in the block(Sparkplugs are saturated) and you can smell the raw fuel as you keep trying to turn it over.

Thank you for any helpZMEGOBY®White 1992 300ZXTT White 1992 240SX w/93 DOHC

The first thing you should do is a compression check on each bank. It won't certify your timing is correct, but it will tell you if it's off.Aren't there markings (dowel pins and/or indentations) on the cam sprockets that match up with colored links on the chain? They probably won't mactch up exactly, but the number of links between each colored link and the related sprocket marking should be the same. Of course, to be absolutely certain, you need to see the crankshaft sprocket too. Aren't the #1 and #3 cylinders on the same cam? That is, what does it matter what the #3 intake cam is doing relative to the #1 intake cam? I've worked on engines but I'm not intimately familiar with the 240 in particular.

same here. I have doen engine work but not completley familiar with the 240sx. Yes there is indentations but I am trying to see if I have them wrong. From a link perspective I have the punch hole on the sprokets in the middle of two links and there 7 links inbetween them.

I am just trying to verify all to see what could be wrong. Compression is good

I have the cranshaft sprocket at TDC(2nd line from left) and have the cams at what I know if TDC..this is what I am verifying with the lob question. I might be wrong. If there is a pic that would be helpful.

Thank you

This is my understanding: There are 2 cam sprockets and the crankshaft sprocket. The chain should have 3 colored links. There should be the same number of links between the marks on each sprocket and the colored links. Turn the engine by hand until you're pretty close between the crankshaft sprocket mark and the link (orange?). If you're 3 links between the mark and the link, then up top, you should be 3 links beteen each mark and the other colored links (silver?). Hope this helps. Sorry, I don't have a pic.
