Cam Chain noise??

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

I have 1995 240sx. I am not sure if it is the cam chain or the guides. It is a constant sound like a chain rubbing on something. If you put your hand on the front of the valve cover it makes the noise a little louder. Need help

its the chain that wraps around the two sprockets for the cams so that the spin together, It also wraps around another sprocket that is driven by the crank shaftor more simply put the chain in this pic

Whats a cam chain? Hell I'd like to know what a cam is. where can I find one. lol
