i also have another problem with my car. basically when it was getting built the right cam very first cam cap (closest to the front bumper) bolt hole got stripped. one of the holding bolts broke as we were tightening it. well basically then i tried to drill and tap it( i didnt know what i was doing) and the drill broke too. so after that i think we tried to drill it one more time and then gave up and ended up jb welding that bolt so it would keep the cap straight!

yea that was retarded but now obiously it got loose and the cap rattles at high rpms.

basically i am wondering if i took it to a pro could he fix this problem or would i need a new head? i dont have any pictures and am wondering where i should take it to get tapped?

How big did you try drilling it? You should be able to get an extractor and get the drill bit out if it's still stuck. If not the only way is take it to a machine shop like posted earlier and yes you will have to take the head off.

If its not to big you should be able to re-drill and Heli coil.

My machine shop gave me the wrong tq specs and I stripped one of mine too! But I was able to drill and helicoil it with no problem.(Rb25) But its been a year now and no problems! I go over them about every 6 months to make sure nothing backs off.

I got a head for sale. You need to get it cleaned up. I'll sell it to you at a very good price. I'm local to you too.
