advice/reccomendations.

I was told 22-2500 rpm for 25 minutes so long as vitals are in check.

never heard of breaking a cam in... probably just heat em up like you said once and they should be fine..... theres not a whole lot to break in, like piston rings on cylinder walls.....

but no doubt it would be wise to try to find some type of break-in procedure to be safe

Ive always heard cams need to be "bedded"

a high idle will ensure that the lifter stays rotating in the bore, and a strong bead of oil between the cam lobe and caps.....so im told.

This is old engine break in stuff. The materials that they use to build cams with now doesn't require any break in.

There is a lot of conflicting info out there on engine break in. I would say to do some research and make a decision based on that.

I can tell you that I broke my motor in hard. I started it an let it idle until it got up to NOT. Then I went out and beat on it for 100 miles, changed the oil, drove it normal for another 500 miles, and then changed the oil again. I've been on normal oil changes ever since and I've got good compression and the motor runs great.
