ok, im starting to change my mind about the sr20 swap. im thinking its a better idea to get the greddy turbo kit and throw it on my ka24de. this way i have more displacement and if i need any parts, or a new engine, i have easier access to them versus the sr20. Although i dont have the 3-4k for either of these projects, i was wondering about puting some jwt cams in for now. the problem is i dont really know much about cams. can i throw them in and still use them when i turbocharge my car?? what kind of power will they produce without the turbo for now?? is there anything else i should know about cams? im hoping a $500 cam set will tide me over until i accumulate enough for the turbo.

Reasonably mild cams will help moderatly with both N/A applications and force induction. Its not a bad upgrade no matter which route you go. You can get into more extreme cams but then you have to start choosing between N/A and forced.

you'll probably be good.... too much duration can be bad and cause too much valve overlap.... the JWT is 275 i believe.. it seems a little high to me, but i'd assume jim wolf knows what hes doing. you'd probably be looking at a 7K redline and about 10 more horsies on the ground.
