so ive been holding off on cams until i got the motor sorted. Many years later it finally is!!!! so now id like your advice.

I 100% dont want to go solid lifter, so thats out the window. it looks like tomei poncams are my only option. My question is, would it be worth it for my setup (2860rs .64a/r 460cc injectors and supporting mods) to do this? Also any experience on where to get the best price on them.

The drop in Pon-Cams are supposed to gain you a bit in the mid-range and top end, with no loss in bottom end power. Your setup should max out at about 300-ish HP, which is about where cams will star to make a noticeable difference. You're right on the line as to whether they're worth it or not.

Yeah, u normally realize the benefits of cams with more aggressive builds.
Another option is oz/nz reground cams. Seen 'em used in some impressive builds
Like a full wt street CA18 that ETs a scorching 10.3 sec at only 22psi boost

Seen mild Tomei 260 hyd in some beasts too

I have the poncams and they really woke the car up. I initially installed my poncams when my engine was stock, and I felt a significant difference. I think they're worth the money.
