Hello all, I recently sheared my exhaust cam (a poor investment in Tomei). I got out my spare and installed it, now I'm only curious about the settings. I set both int/ ex and their respective TDC settings and also set the crank at TDC. For some reason though, it still doesn't turn over. I read up on the KA and set the 'piston 1' lobes facing away from each other. Can some one lend a hand and let me know for sure how this should be done? Thanks..

It tries to turn over but it pops a lot and won't fire. So that's why I think the timings off. I've pulled the cover and it's off on both the int/ ex sides by almost 2 teeth. I'd still like to learn how the cams should be set too. Like I mentioned, I set them the same way to set KA cams. I don't know if that is ok/ it'll work that way or not.

I don't have mine here, I'm in transit and the cars about to go into storage. I'm just trying to get it done right as reasonable fast as I can.

Are the cam gear marks lined up to the marks on the plate behind them?

Intakes should be facing around 10 o'clock and exhaust around 2 o'clock

Ok, thanks, I appreciate it. I already had the cams setup that way and I also had the timing marks on the gears lined up with the backplate. I was just looking for a second opinion to 'double-check' things. Thanks.
